Golden Pear Funding Appoints Former JPMorgan AI CTO Michelle Bonat to Lead AI-Driven Underwriting and Technology Platform

AI industry leader to scale technology and machine-learning capabilities across Golden Pear’s specialty finance platform supporting law firms, medical providers, and patients.

NEW YORK — 03/19/2026 — Golden Pear Funding announced the appointment of Michelle Bonat as Chief Technology, Product, and AI Officer, effective today. Bonat will lead the company’s technology, product, and artificial intelligence efforts as Golden Pear expands investment in AI-driven underwriting and financial infrastructure supporting law firms, medical providers, and patients involved in personal injury cases.

Bonat brings deep experience across artificial intelligence, enterprise software, financial services, and product development. Her career has focused on making AI-led technology operational, trusted, and impactful in industries where real risk, money, and people are involved.

She currently leads AI at Golden Pear Funding, where she has developed the company’s proprietary machine-learning models for AI underwriting and portfolio risk analysis, as well as its AI governance playbook to ensure responsible and scalable deployment of artificial intelligence across the platform.

Previously, Bonat served as a CTO and then as Chief AI Officer at AI Squared, a venture-backed AI infrastructure company focused on operationalizing AI within enterprise environments. She helped scale the company’s technology and product capabilities into an enterprise platform used by Fortune 500 companies and the U.S. Department of Defense.

Earlier in her career, Bonat held AI leadership roles at JPMorgan Chase, including Head of AI Innovation and later an AI CTO at JPMC, where she helped build and scale AI across 100 Chase products serving more than 1.5 billion monthly logins. She is also lead inventor on patents for machine-learning systems that analyze privacy policies and track how consumer data is shared across third-party organizations.

Bonat also held senior engineering and product leadership roles at Oracle, where she led global engineering and product for financial web applications deployed across more than 30 countries and 25 languages. She previously founded a fintech company that mined public company filings to generate ESG investment signals, achieving nearly full automation of the analysis pipeline.

“Michelle brings a rare combination of deep technical expertise and strategic product leadership,” said Meredith Moss, CEO of Golden Pear Funding. “As we continue investing in technology that helps law firms, medical providers, and patients navigate the financial complexity of personal injury, her leadership will help us build smarter systems and expand the platform our partners rely on every day.”

“AI has the potential to transform how complex financial decisions are made,” said Bonat. “Golden Pear is building the technology to bring that intelligence and scale it into real-world financial workflows.”

Bonat is a globally recognized AI expert named to the AI 150, a frequent keynote speaker - including the ODSC GenAI Summit in San Francisco - and has been cited in Fortune, Barron’s, Bankrate, and American Banker. She holds a degree from Northwestern University and an MBA from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management, where she now serves on the AI advisory board.
